REGGAE GIRLZ CAPTAIN KHADIJAH SHAW WINS PFA AWARD

Manchester City forward Khadijah “Bunny” Shaw have won the professional footballers’ association women’s player of the year award for a second time. Shaw scored 21 goals in 22 appearances leading Manchester City to their second WSL league title, winning a third consecutive golden boot along the way. She won ahead of team-mate Yui Hasegawa, Aston Villa’s Kirsty Hanson, Chelsea’s Lauren James, Manchester United's Jess Park, and Arsenal’s Alessia Russo.

She also scored five goals in the FA cup, including the opener in the final as Manchester City added the FA Cup to their league title.

Shaw had a record-breaking year in the 2025-06 season, the Jamaican international became the first player to score 20 plus goals in three or more WSL seasons. She also moved past WSL legends Vivienne Miedema and Sam Kerr, becoming the first player to win three WSL golden boots. Having already won the PFA women's player of the year award in the 2023-24 WSL campaign, she joins English women Lucy Bronze and Fran Kirby as the only players to win the award twice.

Shaw had already won the Football Writers' Association women’s footballer of the year for the 2025-26 season. She signed a four-year contract extension with Manchester City earlier this year and is now gearing for the September 4th start of the 2026-27 WSL season.
