MEG LANNING HEADLINE OVERSEAS PLAYERS FOR WCPL

Australia’s retired megastar, Meg Lanning will be making her WCPL debut she headlines nineteen (19) overseas players confirmed for the 2026 Limacol Women’s Caribbean Premier League (WCPL). Before announcing her retirement from international cricket 2024, Lanning led the Aussies to 2014, 2018, 2020 and 2023 T20 world Cup titles and the 2022 ODI World Cup overseeing one of the most dominant eras in Australia’s sports. Her name etched in history as one of women’s cricket household names, the 34-year-old will now take her fearsome and elegant batting prowess to the Women’s Caribbean Premier League suiting up for debutant Jamaica Empress.

Ireland’s opener and wicketkeeper Amy Hunter, South African exciting left-arm spinner Nonkululeko Mlaba and WCPL debutants New Zealand’s Rosemary Mair and Pakistan’s Syeda Aroob Shah.

BARBADOS TRIDENTS

Barbados Tridents recruited the services of New Zealander Suzie Bates for the 2026 WCPL season, Baites previously represented the Guyana Amazon Warriors. Baites will be joined by three WCPL debutants, fellow New Zealander Madeline Green, fast bowling all-rounder Pooja Vastrakar and middle order batter Kiran Navgire both from India

GUYANA AMAZON WARRIORS

The Guyana Amazon Warriors will continue their quest for their maiden WCPL title, they have regained the services of South Africa’s international super stars Shabnim Ismail, Chloe Tryon and Australia’s Erin Burns after they all missed the 2025 season. The South African pair of Tanzim Brits and Nadine de Klerk completes the Warriors overseas quota.

Ismail picked up 16 wickets across two seasons in 2023 and 2024 will spearhead the fast-bowling attack with support from fellow South African Nadine de Klerk. The Warriors will rely on Erin Burns batting, she scored two half centuries in 2024 for the Warriors. Burns will be supported by all-rounder Chloe Tryon and top order batter Tazmin Brits who will be making her WCPL debut.

TRINBAGO KNIGHT RIDERS

The Trinbago Knight Riders have contracted the services of the experienced South African Marizanne Kapp, Kapp comes with more than 200 T20s across various franchises, she is set to make her WCPL debut. She will play alongside Australians Laura Harris and Madeline Penna. Harris has WCPL experience having represented the Guyana Amazon Warriors in five matches in 2025 and the Barbados Tridents in 10 matches across 2023 and 2024 seasons while leg-spinner Penna will be expected to lead the spin bowling attack. India’s wicket-keeper Yastika Bhatia and Shikha Pandey completes the list.

The 2026 Women’s Caribbean Premier League season will run from September 5 through to 17, all matches will be played at the Kensington Oval in Barbados.
